If you are going to Brittingham's for drinks you will be fine, dinner is average. The French fries were so salty we could barely eat them. The noise level was so high I could not hear what the people across the table from me were saying. My small salad was served in a bowl so small it kept falling out onto the table with each forkful. Food is very average.

I came here a couple months ago for the first time and it was great. It doesn't look like much from the outside on germantown pike but it is very nice on the inside. I got the brittingham's burger which I wouldn't typically get from a place like this but I was just craving a burger, and it literally was so good. They also have some awesome drinks on the menu but unfortunately I am only 20 :( I will be returning though.

Under the old ownership, I loved this place. As of now, the way it looks with the renovations (someone has posted elsewhere that they think it looks like a Japanese steakhouse....sounds accurate) and what their announced plans are, it sounds like it's going to be a dud. They're going for the trendy, dance club crowd, while pretending to want to hang on to the traditional Irish pub image and customers.

Missing the old place!!! This is NOT an Irish bar anymore. Wow, I thought I was the only person who had an unskilled bartender. 1st drink good, 2nd same drink made wrong by someone else, served in a DIRTY glass (it was their house cocktail too!) and it wasn't even busy. Food wasn't good and overpriced, parking sucks, the hightop booths at bar area are near impossible to stay seated on; kept sliding off. There was an inch of dust on the windowsill behind us (could write in it). Not impressed. will not return.

Nothing is better than going to this place on St. Patty's Day. Bands all day into the evening. No one afraid to let their Irish out! Food here always delivers, Sheppards Pie is AWESOME and the beer is always a-flowing. It's a dark Irish Pub. The staff is frazzeled when times are busy, but always smiling and ready to serve. Make sure you book early if you want to go on March 17th, though!

We went to Brittingham's Saturday night (02/07) at 7 because they were the place that could seat my party of 5 the fastest. Despite having lived walking distance away, this was the first time we have been there. We got there before the small lot filled up so were able to snag a parking space and were seated right away in the upstairs section. Even though the upstairs section was fairly quiet when we arrived (but filled up quickly) it wasn't so quiet that I felt my 1 year old would disturb other diners. Out party had - a pulled roast beef sandwhich (it isn't listed on their website and I can't remember the name), it was really yummy and we all snagged a piece - wedge salad with mussels as a main, again really yummy and I ate every bite - fish and chips, really good but a HUGE portion. It probably could have fed 2 - kids cheeseburger and fries, my incredibly picky 4 year old ate every bite - kids shells with butter - my 1 year old devoured this, but I wouldn't recommend getting this for an older child with a healthy appetite, it wouldn't be enough food - Brittingham's Sweet - it was ok, nothing to rave about but not sure it was really worth the price ($10.50) - Chocolate Milkshake - my daughter got it and then didn't want it. I have never had a chocolate shake before but thought it tasted good and my other daughter ended up drinking in Overall we had a good time, our server (Natasha) was great and attentive. The manager stopped by to chat and whenever someone brought a plate to the table they made sure to keep it far away from our little one, which was much appreciated and doesn't happen often enough. We will definitely be back.

Pour a Harp & settle back - it's going to be a long, glowing review. Last night, a grannie client & I chased the setting sun westward, from Jenkintown to Brittingham's. We were already elated, joyful at the sky being still fully light at 6 p.m., having slogged our way through an awful six weeks of unrepentant winter. Our experience at Brittingham's took us from totally jazzed at the thought of spring to brimming over with happy tummies & an elated delight in our fellow humans. The main room was already packed - on a Wednesday night - so we waited at the bar, where Andrew made us feel totally pampered & made an excellent recommendation of vodka for my client's martini. Although we had only been to newly reopened Britt's once, soon after their massive renovation (has a sense of the original, only FABULOUS), one of the young ladies behind the bar remembered what I had ordered! Once we were seated in the main room (not great for intimate conversation, but all those happy faces didn't seem to mind), Vinnie made us feel like long-time regulars. Vinnie amazed us - in addition to our table for three, she served a table of over 12 people (half adults, half children) right next to us. When the little girl, around 4, turned cranky on the cusp of going postal, Vinnie just calmly dropped down to her level & started talking with her - child entranced, problem averted. She took excellent care of our table & all the ones around us. My wild mushroom chowder needed a tad of extra seasonings, but that was easy to resolve. My client adds extra seasonings to everything anyway, so she was happy as a clam. My husband gave his honey nut & grapes salad a big thumbs up. Dessert capped off a delicious dinner - a chocolate sundae for my client, while my hubster & I split a slice of the pound cake. Free valet parking - the most courteous I've ever experienced - made parking a snap. The front entrance offers easy wheelchair access. From the setting to the service to the food to our fellow diners, it was a wonderful evening that beckons us for more. Heads up~ Although usually closed on Mondays, Britt's WILL be open all day, starting early early, on March 17!

Had a reservation for dinner. Arrived and all sort of craziness was going on due to a band being scheduled to play...$10 cover charge, wristbands, etc. Due to the band in the main restaurant, the hostess took us to their upstairs outside patio to seat us. It's March. I don't want to sit on outside patio with heat lamps. Temperature wise, the patio was doable I guess. I was able to take off my winter coat but I was still cold. I get that they had a band that was taking up the main space and they wanted to pack with $10 cover paying patrons but set the right expectation with people who made dinner reservations so they can decide if they want to eat outside in March at a picnic table and still pay the prices as if they are sitting in a nice restaurant. As I was sitting there wondering if I was going to need to put my coat back on to get to the restroom downstairs, about 3 or 4 waitresses passed our table to provide checks to other tables. We tried to make eye contact with them to get someone to stop to at least take our drink order but to no avail. After about 10 to 15 minutes of being ignored (as well as cold), we decided to go elsewhere. When we were leaving, we passed a group of miserable looking wait staff hanging out together chatting. Disappointing. We have eaten here before and had pleasant experiences sitting in the main bar/restaurant (hence, why 2 stars rather than 1) but it will be a while before we consider coming back.

I've been to Brittingham's twice. Once by myself for a beer and a burger and another time with my husband for dinner. The new construction is beautiful, both inside and out. I had the Brittingham Burger and it was delicious. I got the salad on the side and it was really good (fresh), especially for a side salad. The selection of draft beers is okay, but they are all good choices. Be sure to make a reservation if you're going there for dinner. We did not, and one of the rooms was being used for a private party, so after an hour of waiting to be seated, we ate at the bar. I had the fried mac & cheese appetizer, which was out of this world, but I was sorely disappointed when I was served only two. I had the TV dinner, which was okay. The meatloaf was very soft, and kept falling off my fork. The potatoes were a puree consistency, which I don't like. However, the green beans were some of the best ever. My husband said his short rib sandwich was excellent. The bartenders were really good, and on the night we had dinner, they were amazingly fast for serving so many people. Parking can be a hassle waiting for the valets, but there is side street parking across Germantown Avenue. Overall both times I visited Brittingham's my experience was quite good. We'll be going back.

My husband and I had a 830 reservation. We showed up around 800 and told the host we were here and went to the bar. The restaurant is beautiful. I love the renovations. At 830 we went to the host stand, they said it would be another 10 minutes. 10 minutes turned into 40 minutes. No apology, no manager came over. I understand they can't make people leave, but they could have apologized. We left and we will not be returning.

This was the second time that I ate at Britinghams and remember the first time I was not impressed with the selection or quality of the food. When my family suggested we meet there for a lunch today I thought that I would go with an open mind. It was actually all about location, convenient to all of us, and the family get together. You would think that with a rather limited menu the food quality would be better but it was far worse than I remembered. My choice of two stars is because the atmosphere is nice, they really have done a lot with the place, and the staff was professional and friendly. But they should be ashamed of the food. While my husbands choice of a beef sandwich was really pretty bad I will focus on my "buffalo chicken flat bread". A VERY dried out overly bitterly spiced chicken breast cut into cubes and dumped on a flat bread, no sauce or anything except a few shavings of carrot and celery. Not able to finish it. For $13.00. Ok, so from what I observed most of their business may be from alcohol sales judging from the extensive drink menu and bar area. I Will certainly not be going back there for the food. Oh, and I have only ever been moved enough to write one other restaurant review and that was to write an excellent one so you know this meal really offended me!

Absolutely gorgeous restaurant and bar. It's really, really nice. Service is slow and collegiate (except at bar). We have been here a few times. Ordered fries and a kid's meal. Fries never came. When bringing it to the attention of the waitress, she tried to blame a "changing menu" and pretended to be oblivious. Just admit it. She was pleasant, nonetheless. No salt and pepper. No straw for a kid's drink. Water was never, ever refilled. Collegiate. Food is just ok. Inventive but executed in a meh way. Prices are actually very reasonable. Scotch list is great. Wine list is lame. Valet was friendly and professional. Behind the restaurant at the kitchen door, there's trash piled up with a dirty exit. Grease on door. Liscio's bread boxes thrown on ground and pretty dumpy. I will go back, but only because it's so nice. Management really has to get a handle on things.

Rough start turned into a great night! My boyfriend & I had reservations on a busy night & we were seated promptly. However, our server never came to greet us! After telling the hostess about this, because we had been waiting for 15minutes without even water, we were moved to a different table. The whole restaurant was beautiful and had a nice crowd going for the evening. The place was also very well cleaned, including the restrooms. A manager came over to check on us & apologize for the previous blunder. They were very nice and the staff that waited on us was extremely professional. The food & drinks were really great. I will definitely be back! Despite the bumpy start, which may have just been a communication mix up on a busy Friday night, ended as a great evening thanks to the professional staff.

Had not been thru the area in a little while. Loved the old cozy joint with the seasoned staff, proper beer selection and really good tasty unpretentious menu. Walked into the new Brittinghams yesterday. Was immediately put off by the modernization. We were seated at a high top in the schmaltzy looking bar area. A busy waitress in the near empty place handed us something called a "Tweener Menu." Seeing nothing of interest on it among the few things listed we decided this was now the sort of over priced concept restaurant that we try to avoid. We got up and walked out. No one seemed to notice. We went down the street to Ye Old Ale House and had a very good roast beef sandwich and some crispy fries washed down by a reasonably priced craft beer served by folks who look like they work for a living. Sorry to see you go Brittinghams.

Been there 8 times since the renovation and am SO UPSET that the food is getting progressively worse. Yes it's mainly a bar with a super remodel but it started with gourmet pub food a year ago. Everything was good. Now they are cutting corners and the selection, quantity, and quality are all down. Example: iceberg wedge salad was an EIGHTH of a head of lettuce with 1/2 oz of blue cheese and a few scant bacon bits. Burger was small. Key lime pie was a measly wedge with 3 blackberries cut in HALF !! Come on. Even the beer is smaller. The pulled pork salad and homemade slaw are gone. Bring back the decent food or the upscale patrons are going to go away.

This place is getting a 3 solely based on the food. Service would be more like a 1. We came early for an early dinner on Sunday (4pm) since we had plans in the city later that night. I made reservations online since it seems to always be packed ever since they remodeled. The whole restaurant, by the way, is gorgeous. The face-lift really is impressive, just wish the wait-staff was as equally impressive - but not so much. We were seated right away as it wasn't too crowded except for a couple people at the bar area. We waited 15 minutes until anyone came over to our table. 15 minutes when the room was empty?! That's just unacceptable. Maybe they didn't have any specials but the waitress finally came over just asked if we were ready to order.. no hello, no welcome greeting, no question if we had been here before, nothing. We ordered and we saw her about 2 more times throughout the whole experience, one to ask if food was OK (when we half way done eating) & another to give us the check. Ok food - the food is the saving grace to this review. We had mac & cheese fritters to start. The menu states "MAC & CHEESE FRITTERS - tomato jam (5) 4.50" I assumed this meant we were going to get 5 mac & cheese bites... am I the only one who read it that way? When they came out we only received 2 m&c bites... 2.... They were delicious but I thought I was getting 5. If someone ever figures out what the (5) means that'd be great to know. I ordered the "TV Dinner" which is meatloaf with mushrooms & mashed potatoes & green beans. Everything was delicious & the presentation was very cool. It came on an actual plate but it looked like an old school TV tray. Keith ordered the Chicken Pot Biscuit. It was basically chicken pot pie filling with a biscuit on top. Pretty tasty. We enjoyed the food & were definitely full. Most items on the menu seemed to be about $12-$20 per plate. Not too terrible but we didn't even have drinks and our bill was $40 for the two of us. So let's get back to why service was a 1 at best. This place has more staff sitting around in the front lobby and in the bar area than actually attending to customers. It seems like ever since this place got a make-over that the staff is super cocky & that we, as paying customers, aren't good enough to be in their humble abode. I'll give you a few examples... - the parking lot has about 5 spots, good luck getting one of the non-reserved or valet spots. Speaking of parking.. I've almost run over people on Germantown Pike running across the road (not in a cross walk & in a very poor-lit spot on the road) bc there is NEVER parking here. - since there weren't any parking spots opened we had to valet. There was only one valet guy & he didn't come over to us for 3 minutes... is that real life? He just handed us a paper and didn't say one word. Sweet. - When we left there were about 4 girls and 1 guy sitting/laying on the benches by the doors in the lobby area.. they all stood up when we started walking towards them & the guy opened the door for me, however, before the door closed all the way the girls started making fun of him for opening the door for us.. honestly? Overall, this place could use a facelift on it's employees just like it did on it's building. Food was pretty good but the service was so disappointing that I'd definitely choose other places over this in the future.

Over priced! Nice beer selection, limited food menu, service is lacking. 4 shrimp for $12...seriously! I'd go back for a drink and eat somewhere else.

We felt their pain! 2x in one week too! The new building is absolutely beautiful. Amazing job at the décor. Congrats there. The service, well they definitely need help there. I was there 2 x in one week. Here is what happened. On my first visit we sat out on the patio. It was Sunday afternoon. There were a decent amount of people there. Every server and wait staff who brought food orders outside to customers, had no idea where the food was being delivered to. I counted 6 orders that came out. No one new who ordered them. Aren't tables usually #d? Staff would stand there to the point where one customer said "Excuse me, that is my food. Don't you know where the order goes" I order the blue cheese salad. The dressing was sour cream. I sent it back. I then had it replaced with another salad. There were nuts in it and goat cheese and there were more of these than there were pieces of lettuce. Some if the lettuce was wilted. I went back that following Friday night. I ordered a specialty cocktail which was made superbly by a bartender named Kelley. But then I order it from some other female bartender the 2nd time and she had no idea how to make it. She threw ingredients in a martini shaker, didn't shake the mixture, poured it into a glass with one huge ice cube coming over my glass and served it o me. I sent it back. I then moved to the back order and ordered another drink and it wasn't made properly either. The drink was missing a key ingredient . It's a problem that bartenders don't know how to make drinks - especially the ones on their own menu! That same Friday night a DJ came on. At first his music sounded like we were at a wedding in 1993. It was bad. Very bad. As the evening progressed, the DJ was all over the place with his music. He was the type of DJ that was playing "what he wanted to hear" not what the crowd wanted to hear. I also don't think he was a professional DJ. The guy was on his cell phone texting and playing on Facebook while he should have been Spinning. I know b/c I went over to ask him to play a song. Later on the DJ was dancing, and came out on the dance floor shaking and moving his hips. No professional DJ would act like this. It was a huge turnoff. He appeared like he was a guy in his mid-20s who was DJing on the side for extra cash - not taking the job seriously. If the management is reading these posts, I really hope you are taking them into consideration. What I experienced were big turn-offs.

This restaurant has the worst food I have ever had at any Restaurant. I ordered a meatloaf plate. It had no texture and tasted like they used cinnamon, nutmeg or sugar as spices. It was Inedible. The side dishes were awful. Green vegetables were gray. The restaurant itself is nice. Pleasant waiters. Clean and pretty. The flaw us that the food is terrible.

Thank you, Brittingham's for helping me coordinate my fundraiser with you this month! From the very beginning, your staff was so kind and accommodating. Your event coordinator always answered any questions I had prior to the event promptly and professionally. My guests were in awe with how beautiful the restaurant was. The roof top bar was perfect and it was nice they already had windows out so that we could feel the summer breeze during our festivities! My guests (and me) also couldn't stop talking about how good the food was. They told me they were thinking about it on the drive home! The staff was so kind to us and made sure we had everything we needed to have a successful event. They also followed up quickly to ask how it went and if I had any questions or concerns. We raised so much money for my Bike MS: City to Shore team and I can't say thank you enough to Brittingham's for helping us do that! I will definitely be back soon and I would highly recommend if you're planning on having an event of your own!

What do you say about a restaurant that made a 12 year old boy with a broken foot and crutches climb up stairs without finding another table? We should have left then but there were hungry kids and we thought maybe the food would make up for it. Nope. We ordered pretzels (sold out) and strip steak (oops, none of that either). My husband's salad came after his dinner; my son's cheesesteak had the onions we asked not to have. The waitress was nice, so that's something. But otherwise, we should have taken our cue from the fact they had a young boy hop up about fifteen steps with a broken foot. What kind of place allows that without trying to reseat? Brittinghams.

In terms of aesthetics, this is probably the coolest bar in the Philadelphia Metro area. The place is gorgeous. They went above and beyond with the renovations. You've got to see it for yourself. 3 bars, outdoor patio with fire puts. I've eaten there twice. I've had the mussels and the pork belly grilled cheese. The grilled cheese was great. It tasted a bit like a grilled cheese with a slight hint of french toast. I think there must be some maple syrup in there. I had the wings too, they were solid. The stuffed jalepenos were good too. Not too spicy. I've got really nothing but good things to say about this place, but I would like to offer some constructive criticism: Having to valet park isnt fun I am sure (luckily we can walk from our house). It doesnt seem like there is a choice though because the parking lot is small. This wont change but it is still not optimal. The DJ was playing music that the clientele probably would not appreciate. There was Miley Cyrus playing and not really anyone was dancing (to be fair, I only saw this at 10pm so things could have changed) aside from a couple of middle aged folks. I would assume that most of the clientele would be 30-50 years old. I dont see them really wanted to hear Miley Cyrus. This was the first weekend, so things could change. I just want to give my first impression. All in all, I love this spot and I am excited to have it within walking distance,

Bring back the old Brittingham's! Though the renovation is beautiful, it destroyed all that was great about Brittingham's. The service is now poor, the menu overpriced, and the selections are limited. Even at lunch, the room was loud. I had the CHICK CHOPT SALAD. Yuck. The chicken tasted like cubes of liquid smoke. 4 hours later, I still have a lingering smoke flavor in my mouth. The "ranch creme" on the salad tasted like they had just watered down a cheap ranch dressing. My colleague had the SHAVED SHORT RIB ' WIT. He said it was the worst steak sandwich of his life. And that is saving something. The meat was tough and chewy. He left more of it on his plate than in his stomach. My third dining companion couldn't even find something on the menu that sounded good to him. So he just had the soup. He said it was fine for what it was. Gone are the delicious crab cakes, generous portions, chicken cheese steak, and all of the Irish charm. If I could turn back time, the old Brittingham's would definitely be on my list of places to visit.

My boyfriend and I showed up one night because we knew they remodeled the place. As we were walking in we noticed tools laying everywhere. We didn't mind so we walked inside and met the pretty hostess. She seemed kind of unsure as we walked in. We soon found out that they were not open to the public yet. It was their family and friends night before the grand opening. The manager told us about it and unfortunately we were neither. As we walked out debating where to go next, the manager ran outside to catch us. He asked if we were interested in dinner for free! Of course we said yes! He explained what was going on for the night and that nothing was official. They were just trying things out and seeing what people thought of the food. They were looking for little things that needed tweeking and what they needed to improve upon. The place was gorgeous inside. They still had a lot to finish up, but my boyfriend and I are very easy going and we didn't mind at all. The service was excellent, but that is expected since it was the servers' first night working with people. The food was ooookay. We didn't have anything special and the mac n cheese was rather bland. However, we did not have a thing to complain about. Overall, the atmosphere was excellent. The staff was energized and excited. And the manager was excellent. We thought it was extremely nice of him to come catch us to see what we thought. We definitely plan on going back!

Sat outside for lunch the other day and had a really great food and service experience. The menu is limited for lunch but all the choices were eclectic and we sampled a variety, all of which were tasty. Great beer selection. Reasonable price points on everything. Will def return.

This is my favorite spot for summer afternoon drinks at the outside bar or for dinner at one of the several bars inside! Their Bloody Mary menu for brunch is pretty amazing, too! I love the dark, sexy decor inside and all of the bartenders are wonderful! Our first visit was for lunch after a hike in Chestnut Hill ...we told them we'd just enjoyed a nice walk with our dog and they asked where our dog was and let us know that he was welcome anytime - so they are super cool in my book! :) We did take him with us one afternoon and they treated him like a prince; so I can't wait until summer and he can accompany us again! I love the cocktails and beer selection; who knew you could enjoy bubbles (Champagne) and beer in the same glass?! The mushroom flatbread is to die for and being a pescatarian, I especially love the fish 'n chips - it's my fave out of all the places we've tried! Their curry is delish, as well, nice crunchy veggies with a spicy curry! This spot is not right down the street for us, but well worth the drive every time! Stop by, and tell them Mr Sparkles sent ya! ;-)

Very cozy for the eagles game -- good tvs and a fun fall cocktail list met my approval. We did not eat but the menu had oysters to bar food to salads. We will be returning and hopefully the fireplace will be roaring!

Love coming here and sitting outside. Great patio. They have a good happy hour as well from 4-7 with mostly $3 drafts. Their brunch menu is very good as well. I've tried the bananas foster French toast and it's amazing! Haven't ha da bad experience here yet.

Brittingham's is a good place to drink. It's an Irish pub, for goodness sake! Daily, from 5 PM to 7 PM it's happy hour. ($4 Guinness? Not too shabby.) There's live music (at times), and they've got a stage (all the time). They have plenty of seating plus a bar worth its weight in booze, so bring friends. As for brunch, they're a decent spot. Besides the bar area, they have a homey dining room, naturally lit, with tablecloths to keep it real. You've got standard brunch offerings, plus regionally-flavored ones. If you're thirsty, they've got mimosas. If you're of a mind to grab lunch, try their corned beef special sandwich ($6.75), served cold with a side of oh-so-crunchy homemade potato chips. Not sure what makes it special exactly, but it's a sound meal with lots of meat; you won't leave hungry.

Hard to take a place that was on the down and out, spend a lot of money, make it look nice inside and then ruin it with the worst service in the area. Save yourself the time and do NOT even bother to get a drink at the bar. I doubt the current owners will be around long so whoever gets it next, PLEASE hire good staff and make good food. And from reading some of the review it looks like they are already cutting the inevitable corners to make up for poor sales.

PAINFULLY LOUD. Nothing else matters after that. But here are the facts. Went in Saturday at 5:30, the only time we could get a table. The food was mixed in quality; rainbow trout with lentils very good, but there was nothing else with it. No salad, no vegetable. I don't get this trend. Chicken sandwiches tasted good, I was told, but when I tried the chicken left over by my wife, it was pure rubber. The renovation has put a bar in each room. Thus the old dining room only has about three tables now. The middle room, that used to have booths, has a couple more tables. The old performing room is now the main dining room, with tables crammed in every which way. There is nothing to soften the hard walls, bare floor, bare tables, and high ceiling, so sound echoes and rebounds and it was unbelievably loud. So loud it was almost like a joke. When we left about 6:15, the complimentary valet parking was jammed up. We waited about 10 minutes for the car, which was probably a 1-minute walk away. No biggie on such a nice day, maybe start-up problems. Hope they're better than that in January though. Anyway, it was not an environment of comfort; not a place I can imagine anyone but a masochist or an oblivious 20-something would choose to go to, knowingly.

Went with a large party. Between appetizers and mains only half of us were satisfied with our meals. Dont order fried oysters. They tasted like breaded fried cardboard. Dessert although very good the portions were small compared for the high price they charged. Drinks were great but they had New York prices. I would go again but not for dinner.

I've been here a few times and enjoy it. I was talking to the bartender and as it turns out they are going to completely renovate the whole restaurant beginning in April. I was lucky enough to try the chicken pot pie that was created by the new chef and it was all fresh and made in-house. I will be back again but probably won't get a chance before they close the renovations. I'm only giving it 4 stars because of how much it's going to improve and I will write new review when it's up and running.

As other reviews have noted, food is good by service can be really bad. Stopped in on a Sat. afternoon for a late lunch and were seated on the front porch. After about 15 minutes with no service I had to go to the host station to inquire about our server. Order two beers and our lunch and it takes quite a while to return with our drinks. Not sure if she had too many tables or bar was slow serving, but with 3 1st floor bars in here it should have been quicker - especially after our long wait already. Long before our food arrived (slow, but not the servers fault on this one - I hope) we were left waiting for drinks. In fact, a bus person took away my empty beer glass and probably should have told our waitress we were empty, but he didn't. Waitress even served the table next to us and didn't even glance at us to see if we needed anything while waiting for food. Food arrives and it's excellent, so definitely no issues there at all. However, while we were eating, two bus boys clean the table next to us by casually spraying cleaner on the table, which then blew all over us and our food! They didn't even think that maybe outside, with wind, they should stand between us and their spraying, or spray closer to the table so it didn't blow all over us. So sloppy inattentive service for decent food.

My wife and myself met working together at Brittinghams in the '90s so we were very excited to try it out since the renovation. The design and layout leaves nothing to be desired. Very impressive! We particularly like the rear entrance. It never made sense that people park in the rear but need to walk to the front to enter. Also, most people don't comment on a restaurant's restroom but the craftsmanship in these rooms is amazing. During previous ownerships these rooms were a disaster. Unfortunately, the rest of the experience was very average. The waitress was reasonably thorough but not very enthusiastic. The food was somewhat inspired but cold. I ordered the flank steak . The steak was warm but the rest of the platter tasted as though it had been sitting for while. As far as drinks, my wife had a refreshing house Chardonnay but the Harp lagers I ordered could have been much colder. Overall, the experience was positive, but we hope the current management doesn't succumb to pitfalls of the past. While ambiance will always attract customers, quality product and friendly service will always prevail.

Good food and good service on a,consistent basis - what can be better. The flank steak,TV dinner, fish and chips and the wedge are all great. Start with the devilish eggs. The downstairs bar is a great place to sit. Reservations are important as the place is hoppin'. The fireplace is lovely. The service is always wonderful, and I love the snakeskin wallpaper in the bathroom is fun.

Nice renovation though they seem to have removed any evidence of Irish from the place. Small parking lot and all the spaces open reserved for the valet. Sort of annoying way to get more money out of your wallet. Three bars all crowded but everyone friendly and great service. The food was great. Pork belly grilled cheese yum. Duck flatbread yum. The only dish I felt needed work was the vegetable curry. Missing something. Just flat flavor. Only gripe otherwise was the bus boy who after putting his thumb in my dish asked me if I still wanted it. Overall a great evening and good experience. Will return.

Went here for lunch recently and I'd say this is a solid three stars with a chance to move to four if future visits yield consistent results. I love the look of the place. I've never been to Ireland but I've been to England and Scotland and this pub reminds me of pubs I saw there. Cozy, lots of dark wood, Plenty of bar stools, even a few random people getting drunk at noon on a Tuesday. We started with potato skins. They were made with fresh potatoes, real bacon with real cheese melted on top. I'd have preferred more bacon bits but still a string effort. Not the frozen crap with wiz that you often see. Next up was a corned beef special. It was pretty good. The corned beef was well made. The coleslaw wasn't great but overall it was a good sandwich. The burgers and sandwiches come with what appear to be homemade chips. But for $1 more you can get well made fries. Then you can drown them in malt vinegar. Always a great touch. They feature coke not Pepsi which is great. I'll go back for lunch sometime soon. Maybe a Friday when I am have a couple pints.

I had heard this place was good, but now in retrospect, I think that was only regarding the live music. I decided to stop by for a late dinner the night before a holiday, so the place was nearly empty. Despite my timing, the service was excellent. That was the only good thing though. There was nothing that stood out about the beer selection - they only had one craft beer on tap. The soup was ok, but way too salty. And, the fish and chips were terrible. Little soggy, soapy tasting pieces of fish - awful. My wife had the bangers and mash which was just ok. Overall, this place is not worth the drive from Philly, and even if I was a local, I don't think I'd be dining here too often. I might try it again when there's an event.

Brittingham's is nice local bar for us. We'll head down there occasionally for quizzo or other events that they have going on. Overall the pub food they serve is good and inexpensive and the beers on tap are good (although without much variety). Service has always been good and the inside is nice looking and clean. If you want a nice clean local place to grab a beer this is never a bad choice.

Great little place. Excellent wines!!!! Nice bread board....don't get the beetroot salad....it's just not worth it. It's literally 5 sliced beetroots in a sauce for $10 or so. That was my only regret. Nice outdoor seating. Nice service. Will be back at some point. Recommended.

I came here on Friday night for my friends rehearsal dinner and actually grew to love Brittingham's more than the first time I was here. The dinner was on the roof deck, which has its own private bar, several tables, I think its own bathrooms, and an area for a buffet to be set up. When the weather was nice it was completely open air, and when a torrential downpour unfortunately arrived the staff was quick to zip everything up so that we were protected from the rain. It was very cozy and separated from the rest of the restaurant. Really, it was a perfect venue for something like this! The dinner included an arugula salad, some type of creamy pasta dish with mushrooms, salmon, potatoes and roasted veggies. The pasta was pretty good... it wasn't necessarily identifiable as anything other than a creamy pasta dish, but it had good flavor. (I do almost think it was meant to be an alfredo sauce but I really couldn't tell.) The one thing that threw me off a little bit is that the potatoes for some reason tasted a little bit like the salmon. I don't know if it was cooked together or if they mixed up utensils. Not a big deal, though I don't love salmon. The staff was so nice and the bartenders were so accommodating. I conjured up some drink idea with blue curacao and the bartender was totally game. She let me pull up an idea on my phone and she went ahead and made it for me! I feel like if I were a bartender crap like that would really annoy me probably. One minor downside: it seems like the only real way in and out is to go up and down the steps from outside. When it's dark out and dimly lit and pouring rain those steps could be a little bit scary. (Maybe I'm just neurotic?) Also we had to valet park our cars and the valet kid almost gave me a heart attack when he ran over to me with someone else's keys to double check that they were mine....

I'm usually here once a month or so, the service is always consistent, drinks resonabily priced, good selection of drinks (esp seasonal by Sly Fox, Conshy brewing, Victory and Troeg's). Food while on average is good, recently has been a bit of a miss. I normally always get the Brittinghams Burger and the past two times it has been overcooked (I always get medium rare) and lacking one of the toppings (bacon, white cheddar, frizzled onions, lettuce or house condiment). Maybe someone was training, either way I know the quality of this place so I am going to keep going back.

Went for dinner on a weeknight. The food was quite good and reasonably priced. The service was friendly and relatively attentive. We did make a reservation as we knew we wanted to sit out on the patio. I would recommend doing the same as they were busy even midweek. All in all very good. We would go back and provably will!

Please read entire review: the resolution is at the end. I have been a regular at Brittingham's since early 2011, before it was renovated. The new place looks beautiful. I've always loved the food and drinks (both before and after the revamp) and all of the barstaff/waitstaff are wonderful people. You can tell the current owners, Randy Feinberg & David Eckelmeyer, put a lot of time and effort into trying to run a top notch establishment. This year, I decided to try Britt's on St Paddy's Day, which is a big big event for this place. For the first few hours, I had a wonderful time. People of all ages were attending, including the parents of a good friend of mine. Here's where the problem starts: Towards the end of the night I was having a very animated conversation with this good friend at the bar. The next thing I knew, an extremely angry, hostile man approached me and loudly said "stop grabbing onto him!" Both me and my friend attempted to explain to this person that we knew eachother, and that nothing inappropriate was going on. Said angry man walked away, muttering under his breath. Imagine my horror when I asked and was informed that this "angry man" was indeed the General Manager, John Doyle. I was quite bothered by this experience and had planned to never return to Brittingham's again. Indeed, I have not been back since this experience. I racked my brain for quite some time to try to figure out what this guy's problem was. The only answer I have came up with (so far) is homophobia. I am an openly gay man. The good news is that I have been informed this week that John Doyle is no longer an employee of Brittingham's. Rumor has it I was not the only customer he treated poorly. I look forward to my return to Brittingham's (possibly this weekend!) and I am glad to hear there is a new General Manager at this establishment. Sláinte!

Over priced!!! Food is okay but the service is good. The drinks are very over priced. Draft beer should be cheaper then bottled beer.

Stopped in for a Sunday afternoon drink and snacks. Simple 'tweener menu with great pub snacks - soft pretzel sticks with heavenly whipped cheese, pickle jar with the most delicious pickles and pickled tomatoes (incredible!!) and K2 mushroom flatbread... Perfect!! Why this place only gets three stars is unclear... Maybe dinner menu and service don't measure up, but afternoon snacks and drinks and service were top notch! And their patio and summer bar area are amazing! Worth a visit of you live near here or are want to stop somewhere on your way back to Philly.

These two stars are due to our server Carolyn who gave us friendly attentive service. My two friends and I got the pickles: good, romaine salad: good dressing and deviled eggs: okay to start. I got the mussels: horrible, they tasted like lemon and raw garlic and the Brussels sprout: overlooked, under salted and bland even though they were cooked with bacon! My friend got the hanger steak and said it was good but fries and a steak should be difficult to mess up. My boyfriend got the roast beef sandwich and it was dry and bland!! I think the mussels were the worst and overall it was horrible and I'll never go back!!!!

Brittingham's has been on my list of restaurants to review for a while now, and I finally decided to go here 4 days ago with my girlfriend for dinner. The restaurant is distinguishable from the other buildings along East Germantown Pike in Lafayette Hill, PA by the Brittingham's sign on the front of the building. It has a parking lot in the rear, which seems to fill up quickly. There is a valet parking service here but I prefer to avoid letting other people that I do not know drive my car. We arrived close to the opening time for dinner, so the crowd wasn't very big but the bar area was already surrounded by customers, many who seemed to be possibly regulars. Although it seemed a bit windy and the sky displayed a chance of rain, we sat outside on the deck facing the parking lot. From here, the rest of of the food journey begins. At first, my girlfriend ordered a Leffe beer and I ordered the tom and berry cocktail. The beer was as expected but the cocktail was a bit sweeter than I expected, so I went ahead and finished it quickly so I could order a smoked Manhattan, which was much better. We also received a complimentary popcorn with our cocktails. Alcohol wise, for the rest of the night, I just had another smoked Manhattan and eventually a banana foster adult milkshake, which I will discuss later in my review. For starters, we decided to order the mac & cheese donuts snack and the New Englander flatbread. The mac & cheese donuts were good, but the presentation was better than the actual food. The macaroni within the donuts were very tiny and the tomato jam didn't really enhance the overall flavor and taste. The flatbread was crispy and tasted decent but one of the slices contained a piece of hair, so we skipped that slice. We notified the waitress of the issue but she didn't really do anything other than act surprised and take away the plate. I figure the right thing to do would be to offer another flatbread, but I would've declined the offer regardless as I was looking forward to the shaved short rib ' wit sandwich. For entrees, my girlfriend ordered the smokey BBQ chicken sandwich and I ordered the shaved short rib ' wit sandwich. My girlfriend enjoyed her BBQ chicken sandwich but I wasn't completely satisfied with my shaved short rib ' wit sandwich. First off, the sandwich was much thinner than I expected it to be for a cheesesteak type sandwich. Secondly, each bite consisted of a bit of a struggle to separate the meat within the bite from the meat within the sandwich. It felt as if all of the meat in the sandwich was going to be pulled out with each bite. Regardless, it wasn't the worst cheesesteak that I have had so it wasn't too bad. Lastly, I went ahead and ordered the raw bar plate and a banana foster adult milkshake. The raw bar plate's shrimp tasted fine but the clams and oysters were obviously not fresh and were not represented well on the plate as they were still full of liquid. Next, I drank the the banana foster adult milkshake which was very good and definitely allowed me to finalize my meal in a good way. From our experience here, the bar here seems to be the highlight as the food is just average. Overall, Brittingham's provided a decent experience and I would recommend the bar more so than the food.

Went there yesterday with a group of 7. The good - they have ample outdoor seating, and the restaurant/bar area is really pretty. The food (once it came) was also good, no complaints from me. The bad - service was unbelievably slow, and once our food did finally arrive, there were a few mistakes with the order. They had a VERY limited menu for brunch, so it's strange the the service was still really slow. We paid most of our bill in cash, and a few people used their cards, our waitress didn't bother to bring us change - why? She would have ended up with a HUGE tip, and just assumed that she got to keep all of the change? Rubbed us the wrong way, especially after the slow service and mistakes in the order..

Fab ambiance, super clean, fun menu! We both got the basic burger with side salad and both said it was the best burger we ever had!!!! I wish I lived closer. The inside/outside bar area looked like a super cool place for cocktails in evening!

Went on a Sunday -nice place.Sat in a booth at the bar. Freezing cold -air vents had water or ice on them which were right above us.Food was good but very slow service.Couple pieces of chicken were a little red near the bone -it made me nervous to eat them.messed up part of the order. The poor waitress was running around like chicken without a head I felt bad for her They were under staffed.I was so tired and cold when I done I couldn't wait to leave.I may give a second chance but first impression was bad!

I've never been to the previous incarnation of Brittinghams, but I am definitely a fan of the new one! My friends and I have all been several times, and have already had lots of good memories. I've tried dinner there, happy hour, and special events like St. Paddy's day. All have been good. My rec is to go there for happy hour, specifically on a beautiful day. There are multiple bars to choose from, and two are outside! They have nice specials: half off drafts (including a great list of layered half Guinness creations), $2 off glasses of wine, and I believe 25% off all liquor. I don't believe there are any food specials. Their food menu is not large, but is varied enough. Small bites, larger apps, some entrees, and some sandwiches. Everything I've sampled so far has been delicious, especially the bbq chicken sandwich I had last. Messy but yummy. I've also always been happy with the service. Friendly, but not overly friendly or pushy, and quick. Valet is also great and complimentary. It's a must as the parking lot can fit like 3 Priuses and that's it. But there are lots of valet attendants and they are super quick. While it's not a very pricey establishment, it is a dollar or two too much for me to consider going often for post-happy hour. But it's a fun splurge for me from time to time, and always a good choice for happy hour!

I didn't have very high expectations for Brittingham's after reading some of the recent reviews but I'm glad I decided to check it out for myself. The exterior of the building looks fantastic and I will be sure to come back when it's warm to hang out on the roof top deck. The interior has (2) bars and a few different sections of tables. The interior décor was just as nice as the exterior and it's obvious a lot of thought was put in to the renovations. My friend and I grabbed two seats at the bar on the left hand side as you walk in. We were immediately greeted by Andrew our bartender. While looking over both the drink and lunch menu I had a chance to examine the inside of the bar. All the glasses had been wiped down and they didn't have any water spots. The floor mats were spotless and everything was extremely well organized. After a few minutes Andrew took our drink orders and also advised us that their larger beer bottles were only $6.50! I have never seen large bottles of Rogue or La Fin Du Monde for such a reasonable price. *UPDATE $6.50 special for large bottles is no longer** I wanted to try both of the day's specials. For an appetizer I had the Flat Bread of the day Sausage, Olives, Artichokes & cheese. The toppings were very flavorful but I thought the bread was a bit too thin & crisp. It reminded me more of a cracker than bread. Even though the bread wasn't too my liking overall it was well put together. For lunch the special was a fried Oyster Po'boy with a spicy aioli. A side salad comes with the sandwich and the house dressing was awesome. I can't remember exactly what it was but I do remember that I really enjoyed it. The Oysters were cooked perfectly, the roll was fresh and the aioli had a nice spicy kick. All of the food was made fresh and I didn't see anything that looked like it had been frozen. There are 20+ beers on tap and the selection was good but not great. They have several bottled beers and cans available in several different styles. One of the highlights of Britthingham's was Andrew our bartender. He was friendly, personable and extremely informed on the beer and food. Usually bartenders in the burbs aren't quite this good and it turns out Andrew did work at a popular bar in the city. I want to return for dinner to get a more comprehensive feeling for Brittingham's but so far I'm impressed.

I have dined here multiple times. I typically enjoy the creative flat bread of the moment. Recently i had the Chipotle Bbq wings and they were awesome. Don't skip the pickled veggies. Everything i have had at this place has been very good. They truly understand good food. Great place for some outdoor drinking when the weather is nice.

I really like this "contemporary roadhouse" vibe, with a modern American menu. Various dining rooms, multiple bars and a great outdoor seating set-up (weather appropriate). Food is usually average, coming from 5 visits over past few months - but a congenial staff/bartenders and the ambiance make it a solid go to spot for casual food/drinks. Like their $8 Bloody Mary bar for brunch, with the locally distilled Bay Vodka, with Old Bay infusion. $11 Sausage Benny was ok, not bad - not great. I keep coming back, so for me - the pros outweigh the cons.

So I've read some reviews which seem to give extra points because Brittingham's was renovated and has new owners. Sorry folks, you don't get credit for renovating the old, dark, musty smelling interior. Doesn't work that way. I was there the other night with my wife, and lo and behold was the first sign we may have made a mistake. Honestly, valet parking for a gastro pub/restaurant? I understand it was comp, but the pretentiousness of valet parking and now forcing me to wait for my car, and hand over the obligatory tip just set me the wrong way. If the need for valet parking is there because of limited parking, then I have to wonder how they got the zoning. We walk in and the hostess asks us whether we wish to sit inside or out. We say inside because its 58 degrees outside, getting colder, and we're not dressed for it. We're then seated in the dining room with the open walls to the patio! That's like declining a picnic table and being seated in a gazebo. Mind you, I should have requested we be relocated to a warm indoor dining room, but I didn't. I just didn't have the energy. Our food orders were simple and they were taken and delivered with a smile. The service was very good (not awesome), and it was obvious the staff was working as a team. The wings were great, and full of flavor...for a $1/wing, they better be. The fish and chips were well represented but my wife and I both commented on the chips simultaneously. She said pretentious, but after we tasted them, we agreed on "lazy". I didn't think it was possible to assign a negative adjective to a french fry, but how do you make a lazy fry? By cutting a potato in quarters and deep frying them....that how. We wound up taking them home to the kids...who promptly threw them in the trash bin. I understand Brittingham's doesn't want to be just another pub, and the decor is nice, but if you're going to keep the name, remember where you came from. Its difficult to re-invent yourself while holding on to old habits. Maybe I missed something. Maybe I had an off night. Maybe they were having an off night, and I'm willing to give this place a 2nd date. Who knows? Perhaps we were just too harsh on each other.

i haven't been to brittingham's since they renovated and reopened in 2013 - the food, drinks, service, and restaurant itself have all improved significantly since my last visit. the building itself (inside and outside) is beautiful. they have a fire pit out back which i cannot wait to sit by when it's a little warmer out! i went for the wxpn event last sunday and the place was packed; i'm not sure if this is typical for a sunday night, but it was a lot of fun and the vibe in the bar was awesome. the service was great and the bartenders were really friendly and attentive. i tried the smoked bbq chicken on a jalapeno roll and it was delicious; the chicken was extra smoky and spicy. we ordered the pub pretzels with cheese and they were really good to snack on, too. they had a decent beer and liquor selection from what i could see. i will 100% be back to try one of their "adult milkshakes," which sound like a whole bunch of amazing dessert drinks. they had a bananas foster milkshake with liquor, but i can't wait to try the spiked thin mint and "the party," which contains real cake batter. sign me up!

After reading the menu online, I had high hopes for Brittingham's, but in the end I was disappointed. Food was below par, especially considering the price, and service was lackluster. Between my wife and I we had the Chipotle BBQ wings, wedge salad, pork belly sandwich, and pound cake. The wings ranked among some of the worst we've had, like frozen wings with bottled sauce. While the wedge salad was tasty, a wedge salad is hard to mess up. Pork belly could have been better seasoned, and the pound cake was very dry. Our server was fine. Not rude, but hardly friendly either. We were there from 6:20-7:30 or so, and while the outdoor seating was packed, there were many empty tables inside. I was also really irritated by the parking spots that seemed to be reserved for only those driving Mercedes, Audis, and Lexuses. Pros: food came out fast and valet parking is free. We probably won't be returning to Brittingham's.

I don't have a lot to say about Brittingham's. It's a decent restaurant and pub in a building dating from 1743. The renovations that have been done recently look really great. There is an excellent beer selection. Food seems good enough without being at all exceptional ... and the portions are def somewhat - but not drastically - on the skimpy side for the prices. My fish and chips could definitely have used several more chips to make for a satisfying meal and I'm not a huge eater. Service was pleasant although I had to ask for the water glasses to be refilled ... even though the dining room wasn't that busy. Would I go back again? I would. But I won't rush to do it.

We went to see a great band tonight, and the waitress working the room was more than earning her keep. These are the only reasons they get 3 stars tonight. I ordered a margarita, which was undrinkable. She must have seen my expression, because she said they don't use sour mix and offered to replace it. I tried a mojito next, which was also undrinkable. It tasted like straight tonic water with 3 sad sprigs of mint. As I was the DD, I happily stopped drinking. I also noticed more staff than I've ever seen at a restaurant, but most seemed to be aimlessly milling about. Oh, Brittingham's...you are a conundrum!

Since its renovation, it's lost it's cozy feel. You must valet your car, which is just annoying, and drinks are now smaller and pricier. Disappointing. It's beautifully maintained, but the quality of the overall experience is now pretentious when it should be welcoming and comfortable.

I drive by Brittingham's a lot but this is only the first time I've gone in. It's so pretty, but that's about the best part of it. We had to wait forever to be waited on and came close to getting up and leaving when we finally were acknowledged. The food was so-so, nothing special, and my adult milkshake was so weak it seemed more like a regular milkshake - tasty but no buzz.

Brittingham's is back and better than ever! After being sold last year and closed for massive renovations, the space opened again this week--and, oh man, is it spectacular. Everything in the space has been overhauled, and you wouldn't recognize it if you'd been here before. There is a huge patio with gas fire pits, a roof deck, three bars, and valet parking. The menu has been totally reimagined and is executed to perfection by by their head chef, who trained under Perrier. I've had housemade pickles (tasty) and the chicken sandwich, which was wonderfully smokey. Perhaps my favorite thing from here is the raw bar, though--yes, you heard that correctly: legit raw bar in Lafayette Hill (and that's not a euphemism). The east coast oysters, blue points at the time, were massive and super fresh, with a nicely prepared accompanying mignonette. They were seriously up there with Oyster House and Route 6, maybe even a touch better because of their huge size. I beer selection is not bad at all, and is priced well, with some big bottles, like the Rogue Double Chocolate, coming in as low as $6.50! I'm hoping that in time they work on the draft beer selection a little and make some more creative picks. They just opened, though, so I am sure they will work this out. The wine list is fantastic, though. Really nice selections, and I believe they even have a sommelier--yes, you heard that correctly: a sommelier in Lafayette Hill! Perhaps the most exciting thing, for me, about the new Britt's is that they are opening early on the weekends for English Premier League soccer! I cannot wait to roll in at 7am to watch my Chelsea or my wife's Tottenham throw down on their opponents, over some tasty breakfast. I seriously could not believe it when I heard about the new Britt's. How could they know all of my favorite things--beer, wine, food, soccer, oysters--and bring them together? Somehow they did, and I love them for it. Welcome back to the neighborhood, Britt's.

Let's get one thing straight, Brittingham's is located in the middle of suburbia, not downtown Philadelphia. The valet parking is annoying and I can't see the need for it. Already entering the bar for the first time and I'm annoyed. This pretty much sums up my experiences at Brittingham's, annoyed and frustrated. What's especially frustrating is it has what it needs to be great- good atmosphere, good location, ample space, good drinks- but it can't deliver. I remember Brittingham's before it was renovated. It was a local dive which I had no interest in attending. They renovated and I thought, "Okay, let's give it a shot." So, I went for the first time for a happy hour. Eh. It wasn't what I was thinking it would be. It's fancy, I'll give it that, but it lacks real substance. The food is a major letdown. (I'd suggest they eliminate the overhead of the valet guys and put that money towards an overhaul of the food.) The menu can't seem to make up its mind. Are they going for sophistication (pan seared trout, pickled pepper humus, K2 Mushroom Flatbread) or simple (classic wings, Brittingham's Burger)? I don't think they have the capacity to handle a mix of both. I found myself frustrated when looking at the menu. I went back for Quizzo a few months later, not of my own volition, rather the general consensus of a group. Good time. The excitement of playing got me through the bad food and nonsense valet parking. Again, I still felt that spasm of annoyance while looking at the menu and handing my keys to the valet guys. It reminded me why I hadn't wanted to come back. I went back on Thanksgiving Eve to see the band, Secret Service. Good crowd and a good night. But, I wasn't eating anything and I didn't drive. As we left there was a gang of folks waiting for the valet guys and we ended up waiting in line. Still, the good night wasn't ruined. I again felt that twinge of annoyance. One interaction did annoy me on Thanksgiving Eve. I paid with my card and politely asked the bartender if there was a minimum for a credit card. She rolled her eyes at me and said "No, but there should be." She obviously can't grasp the concept that a business should never give people a hard time about paying. I strongly suggest management sit down with the staff and remind them that single drink credit card transactions may be a nuisance in the moment, but the bottom line is that the customer is paying. I thought Brittingham's would be the next MaGerk's. A hot spot for Lafayette Hill. You can put in new furniture. You can have a fancy security camera that shows everyone on a flat screen, enticing people to take selfies, and capture the moment. Regardless, you just can't get it right. I'd advise closing for a night and taking the entire staff over to MaGerk's in Ft. Washington to see how it's done. MaGerk's knows how to do valet parking right. They have an excellent, simple menu and the bartenders have never given me a look for paying with my card for one drink. I've also never felt a twinge of annoyance.

Tables are all directly next to large bar area and it is EXTREMELY loud - you cannot hear the people at your own table. We had 8:00 reservation but were not seated until nearly 8:45. Food was served around 9:15. Food was OK - some peoples' dinners were very good, others just OK.

The new Brittinghams is excellent. Last week we had the roast chicken and TV dinner. Chicken was perfectly brined and came out with a crispy skin and delicious sides. TV dinner was solid and tasty. The martini was well made and the wine selection is just perfect for the place. The vibe is very energetic - bring the kids and let then use outdoor voices. Decor is "modern traditional" and could even pass for a posh pub in the UK. WiFi is strong and there are plenty of TVs for sporting events. We went on day 4 of the opening and there were very minor service issues which I chalk up to working out the kinks (after going back a second time they still need improve their bussing - stacked, empty plates sit too long, but plates we're still working on get cleared too soon). All in all it shows a lot of promise and we are thankful for a truly local establishment we can patronage instead of the adequate, but inauthentic chains like Redstone and Seasons52.

Went here for Easter brunch with family. The server looked like she had partied too hard last night and was not attentive at all. I had to flag down someone else (twice) to get water and coffee refills - and once I caught our server making a face about it. The food was just ok... then I found a long blonde hair in my eggs Benedict and that was the end of that. The management comped my $12 meal of our $180 bill. Glad we gave it a shot but probably wouldn't return. On another note, the renovations are beautiful, and I appreciated all the tvs to watch the Flyers game on!

We went to Brittingham's for the fist time since the new owner and renovation. Understand that we had history and a fondness of the old Britt's. The renovated Britt's is a wide open design. Lots of air and outdoor dining availability. We sat inside. The menu was kinda small, but our party of 5 all found something to our liking. I had the Brittingham Burger. It was fine. Fancy little house salad instead of fries (my choice). My son had the Smoky BBQ Chicken Sandwich. He enjoyed it. It was a little spicy. My daughter had the mussels appetizer. It came with a LOT of mussels! She are them all, even though the sauce was very strong and buttery. My father had the Beef Stroganoff Pasta Bake special. He said he liked it a lot. And my wife had the Vegetable Curry. It was very spicy. So, in all. A nice place to visit on a warm spring evening. If you're expecting the old Britt's, be prepared... It's not the same. But it was a good meal. Good prices. And a good experience.

Tried Brittinghams last night and will not be going back! Chef had an extra extra heavy hand on the spice and sauces. Can't remember the last time I went to a restaurant and had to send back my food. Pound cake was stale and bread pudding was overcooked on the outside, undercooked on the inside. We could barely hear each other at dinner. At least we had great company and fantastic mushroom chowder! My recommendation- go there for drinks only with ear plugs! Service was ok. We almost got someone else's food.

This place sucks if you get there at 3 on a Saturday afternoon you will not be treated well No food until 4:30 even though everyone there before 3 could have what ever they wanted.. Had to ask for popcorn since I could see the chosen ones could have whatever they wanted. Then when it is time to have food at 4:30 they clear out the room and make you feel unwelcome. I guess the moron manager did not have enough sense to ask us if we would like to be seated in the other rooms with other dinners. Pub Steak 2 pounds of frozen fries and small steak. The steak was ok presentation was a joke. This place used to be a fine Pub not it just trendy trash

I had the Brittinghams burger and my wife had the chicken pot pie oh and we started with wings. If I had been blind folded I wouldn't have known which was which, zero flavor and small portions for the price. This was a gift certificate from one of my daughters so it didn't cost me but I certainly won't go back. Nice job with the renovations but that's were it ends.

My husband & I went on a Friday night for the first time. We'd not been there when it was the old owners, and this was our first time since they reopened. We had a very good experience. Our server, Carolyn, was perfectly attentive and available. We ordered the Deviled Eggs, Potato Soup, Pork Belly Grilled Cheese, & the Pastrami Spiced Burger (special). Everything was delicious. The menu was very well thought out and offered a nice selection and variety. The restaurant itself is beautiful as well and makes for a cozy feel despite it being fairly large. We will definitely be back regularly as this may easily become our new Friday night place.

This review has nothing to do with the food, as we never actually sat down to order. We arrived without a reservation on a Friday night to discover valet parking only. The valet kindly told us that there was a 1-hour wait for a table, but we decided to ask about bar seating and left our car. We got inside, asked the hostesses (there were three chatting it up t the stand, nothing to do?) if there was room at the bar, and they all said "Sure!" Liar liar pants on fire. We saw no room anywhere, so we decided to cut our losses and try another place. On our way back out, said hostesses didn't acknowledge us, not even to say "sorry," or "have a good night" So we get back outside and ask for our car. Granted, they were busy, but I counted five different guys working the valet and it took about 15 minutes for our car to be brought around. We get inside and have to hold our breath because it reeks of cigarette smoke. Rolled down to window to ask "Have you been smoking in here?" and the guy says "I mean, I didn't smoke in the car but I smell like smoke" Awesome, thanks. We will not be back, if only to avoid the awful parking experience.

Painfully Loud sums it up best. The food was decent but how do you enjoy when you can not hear anything. It actually hurts to sit there. You can not have a huge space, high ceilings, a bar area and too many tables shoved together and no sound absorbers. The waitress could not even hear the order and subsequently some sides were not sent out with the meal. Who enjoys that?

Very excited to go to new Brittinghams until arrival. After Christmas shopping with car full of gifts wanted to stop in eat & have beers. No parking, valet parking only and really didn't want to hand keys to stranger with couple hundred $ gifts in car. But I did anyway went inside to find a really nice place But! Families with small children, not horrible but enough to make me wanna leave. Sure enough my wife & I were seated next to family with little boy dropping his cars on floor and minor whining. So we left without eating. Irish pubs are for adults not kids, ignorant parents not the pubs fault, but the young woman host should have better idea how to seat people. If you need to bring your kids drinking with you there are places like Applebee's and tgi Fridays.

Went there St. Patty's day weekend looking forward to a good Guinness in a good Irish bar. Wow, what a disappointment. Guinness - flat and stale; Harps - flat and stale; Smithwicks - flat and stale. Couldn't believe they had the nerve to serve such horrible beer on THIS weekend. Told the bar tender, and he couldn't be bothered. BTW, I wonder if he noticed that everyone around the bar was drinking wine and bottled beer. Coincidence??? Will not be going back.

Adorable and accommodating! I attended a benefit held here, and the event was great. Brittingham's provided just the right venue for 100+ people enjoying food, drinks, music, and a raffle drawing on a sunday evening. The tickets for the benefit included food including apps, salad, roast beef sandwiches and dessert, miller lite and yuengling. I can't speak for the quality of the food since I didn't eat any, but the beers were good and the bartender was very friendly. Later they had a decent cover band. I liked the space itself - felt very cozy without being cramped. Felt like just the right kind of place for a snowy winter night. On top of it all, Brittingham's was nice enough to allow the organizers to host the benefit there... apparently they had asked around some places (in a town that starts with an M and ends in a Yunk) and were denied. But the Britt came through.

Another great watering hole located in "downtown" Lafayette Hill. This place, just like some other bars/restaurants in the area, is a historic landmark. Built in 1743, it was used in the Revolutionary War as a resting place for troops. During the Civil War it was part of the Underground Railroad..very cool. So with all of this history taking place inside the walls it could only mean one thing- ghost stories abound!!! Just a little history lesson for ya.....now onto the review: Brittingham's has three areas: the dining room, the bar, and the party room. The dining room has a "grandmother's dining room" feel to it. This section of the restaurant seems particularly jumping on Sunday afternoon when brunch is being served. The party room opens up into the main bar area and usually holds the various musicians that provide entertainment on the weekends and selected week day nights. The epicenter of Brittingham's is the spacious bar that encompasses most of the main room. It is very inviting and makes you feel very comfortable once you have pulled up a chair. Tables and booths fill in the rest of the room making it feel like a cozy nook, without sitting on top of the people around you. The food ranges from Irish specialties, to standard bar food, to pastas, sandwiches, salads and soups. I am a huge fan of the Irish potato soup, corned beef sandwich, and the classic BLT. My husband and I walked here in the midst of those crazy snowstorms this past winter, they were open and ready to fill us with good food and drink! A great place to go for a cold beer, hot soup, and good company.

Great authentic Irish Brew Pub. Has absolutely amazing Bangers and Mash that will knock your socks off. Plus they bring in great entertainment like 2U, one of the best U2 tribute bands in the U.S. One of the best brew pubs around.

Had a graduation party here and the manager treated us wonderfully. The food was great and they were very accomodating. I've also been here for random lunches and meeting friends for drinks and I've always had a great time and left with a full belly.

I had always been a big fan (since 1988) of this fine establishment...especially the music scene and authentic decor from Ireland. Yesterday though was a whole new eating experience. A friend offered to take me out for lunch and since I sometimes work in Laf Hill, I suggested Brittingham's so we could enjoy a beer with the lunch....it was friday afternoon after all. I ordered the crab cakes and he ordered a prime steak sandwich. My platter, which was $17 included two very bready and poor tasting cakes which had the air of sitting in the freezer too long. His sandwich had a stale roll and the meat was less then meaty, more fat than anything. French fries also were freezer burnt and the condiments were not very fresh. Service of the bartender was friendly but the server was persona non existence most of the time and it wasn't like she had more than 3 tables to wait on in a given hour. I'm sorry to say that if atmosphere of old Ireland is all they are going to be offering and if the food doesn't dramatically improve (real soon), I predict they will be shuttering the place within 2 years....which is a not what I want to see. I will try once more in the next few months and if I am mistaken i will gladly make a retraction.

So this was one of my first expeditions to the 'burbs and I'm happy to report that it was a successful one. Went for a benefit that included open bar and stayed for the best U2 cover band I've ever seen (aptly named 2U). The place gets 2 stars but 2U automatically adds two more given how good they were and how hard they rocked the place. I didn't know the 'burbs had it in them to be fun but I guess I was proved wrong.

I've been there a few times...even though I live in Texas my cousin plays in an Irish band that performs there several times a month. I've had good experiences each time I've been. Food has been great, and of course the music is wonderful as well. The wait staff was nice, though I'm unsure about the bar tenders.

You shouldn't leave the Philadelphia area before visiting this amazing Irish pub in the heart of the Philly suburbs. On the Friday night we went it was packed with the most age-diverse group of people I've ever seen in one social place, all rocking out to a U2 cover band called "2U." Classic.

Honestly after a few other restaurants have almost made me lose faith that noone knows how to cook a filet Mignon. This place has definitely brought me back to know that someone out there still knows how to cook. My compliments to the chef.

We used to be great customers there and loved it so much until we decided to have our rehearsal dinner there. Terrible customer service! -roof leaked through, every guest was wet and cold...they acted like nothing was happening. -There were puddles everywhere...luckily no one fell...lawsuit. -We ordered an cheese tray for when people arrived it was the size for 5 people...we had 35 guests. -Food took forever to come out. -ran out of dressing twice...had to ask 5 times to refill. When I brought it up after the fact... it was just a "oh sorry, we hope you come back."
